Professional Standards Board

The Professional Standards Board is established by the Board of Trustees to advance the RSC’s strategy as a professional body

This includes upholding the standards of qualification of those who practice chemistry as a profession. It advises the Board of Trustees on strategic developments in professional and employment practices. It is accountable, through regulations agreed by the Board of Trustees, for establishing, enforcing and monitoring standards for admission to categories of membership, the award of other qualifications/registrations, accreditation and professional conduct.

Accreditation and Validation Committee

To consider and advise the Professional Standards Board on all matters relating to the approval of programmes of study which contribute to satisfying the 91AV qualifying standards for practising chemical scientists. The Accreditation and Validation Committee is a sub-committee of the Professional Standards Board. Working practices for the Committee will be agreed separately with this Board.
