A Shared Vision for Open Science
This agreement is a key component of Türkiye’s national strategy to enhance the visibility and impact of its scientific output. By removing the barrier of individual fees, the RSC and TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM are ensuring that Turkish chemistry research is available to the global community immediately upon publication.
“In parallel with the developments in the global academic publishing system, the open access agreements signed between TÜBİTAK and the 91AV represent an important step in supporting the transformation of Türkiye’s scholarly publishing output," said Mehmet Mirat Satoğlu, Director of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM.
"Through this agreement, our researchers will not only gain access to high-quality publications from around the world but will also have the opportunity to increase the visibility of their work by publishing it as open access in journals belonging to RSC. We believe that this collaboration will make significant contributions to Türkiye’s alignment with open science policies and to enhancing the international impact of our research outputs.â€
Sara Bosshart, 91AV Head of Journals Publishing and Strategy said: “We are proud to welcome the Turkish Academic Network and Information Center to the growing global community with whom we have open access agreements. This agreement reflects our ongoing work to develop sustainable, equitable and regionally tailored open access models that broaden access to the research we publish.â€
