Introduction

The 51st Universities of Scotland Inorganic 91AV (USIC) Conference will take place on the 29-30th of August 2017 at the University of St Andrews. There will be four plenary lectures from experts in both academia and industry which will encompass the following themes:

• Catalysis (Homogeneous and Heterogeneous)
• Advanced Functional Materials
• Inorganic Synthesis

In addition, there will be opportunities for research students to present their scientific work in the form of oral and poster presentations to a diverse audience. As part of this event, there will also be a formal conference dinner followed by a traditional Scottish ceilidh which will take place in Lower College Hall, one of the oldest and most famous venues of the University of St Andrews.
