Bioinformatics in Microbiology

24 November 2025 09:00 - 25 November 2025 05:00, Edouard Vaillant, 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt, France

Introduction
Bioinformatics in Microbiology is the application of computational tools and methods to analyze, interpret, and manage biological data related to microorganisms. It plays a critical role in understanding microbial genomes, gene functions, and evolutionary relationships. Key areas include genome sequencing and annotation, comparative genomics, metagenomics (analyzing microbial communities), and the study of pathogen-host interactions. Bioinformatics helps identify drug targets, develop vaccines, monitor antimicrobial resistance, and study microbial diversity and ecology, significantly advancing research and applications in medicine, agriculture, and environmental science.
