The Annual General Meeting (accompanied with a dinner and talk) of the Central Yorkshire Local Section will be held on Tuesday 2nd June, at the Printworks Kitchen and Bar, Leeds City College, Hunslet Road, Leeds LS10 1JY. Dinner will start at 17:00 for 17:30.
The AGM summarizes Central Yorkshire’s contribution to the work of the 91AV in 2025/26 and suggests arrangements for the next year. It also presents a change for section members to meet and discuss matters - science and general.
Registration and a contribution of £10 per head for the dinner will be collected through TryBooking https://www.trybooking.com/uk/GEXW. Members may bring a guest if they wish, and drinks are purchasable from the bar (cash or card).
The evening will come to an end with a talk by Joy Parvin (https://www.york.ac.uk/ciec/the-team/). Joy Parvin is a former teacher, who has recently retired after 34 years working for the Centre for Industry Education Collaboration. She has worked in that time at the intersection of chemistry, school children and industry across the North East of England and elsewhere. She will give a personal perspective based on a lifetime of stories about keeping children engaged with science and raising awareness of the career opportunities that science industries can offer.
